Crochet: Designing Comfort by Hand

Crochet became my unexpected creative reset—a way to slow down, create with intention, and rediscover joy in making something purely for comfort. Much like UX design, it’s about crafting experiences that feel thoughtful and human. Each loop and texture reflects rhythm and flow, guided by the same empathy and patience I bring to digital design—only this time, the “interface” is warmth itself.

Cold Weather Gear

Crocheting scarves and wraps began as a way to keep my hands busy during long winter evenings, but it soon became an exercise in tactile UX. The weight of the yarn, the repetition of motion, and the end result—a soft, wearable layer of comfort—all reminded me how design connects through feel as much as through function. This piece was about coziness as experience design, one loop at a time.

Holiday

Crocheting for the holidays became a study in joy through detail. The repetition of pattern and color mirrored the comforting rhythm of seasonal traditions—familiar yet always new. I approached each piece as an expression of warmth and nostalgia, blending structure with emotion to create something that feels both timeless and deeply personal.

Pumpkin

This series was all about embracing texture and form—translating the feeling of fall into something soft, warm, and lasting. Each stitch became part of a rhythm, building shape through repetition and patience. Much like UX design, the process was about finding balance between structure and creativity—how something simple can become beautiful when crafted with intention.

Blanket

This blanket was a long-form project in patience, iteration, and care. Every row layered into something larger—an embodiment of consistency and purpose. My son’s small hands clutching it reminded me why I create: design, whether digital or tactile, is ultimately about connection, security, and love translated into form.
